Key factors affecting the preparation and delivery of online news

Journalist in the modern world of convergence must be equipped with the flexibility required to deliver news via a range of platforms, including social media, but the pressure to meet conflicting deadlines has increased with advances in modern technology. However, Journalist does not write a story relevant to all the audience on the face of the earth, instead, the audience will look for the certain category of news which actually relate to them. Besides, the newspaper industry delivers news daily throughout the day. Time is one of the biggest hindrances to the journalist because Journalist is the clock-watchers for the newspaper printing industry and has been always crucial for online journalist as they need to update news as it might get updated even by seconds. So, the need to rush and prepare latest online news to attract readers is most important and to ensure an up to date and factual account before the given deadline. Whereas, the online platform instantly updates the news to various social network platform as soon as they gathered enough information from sources. “There is an expectation that the modern journalist will send breaking news alerts via text message and email or blog post, followed by a radio or television broadcast a daily newspaper, then a comprehensive print and online story,” Lieb (2009, p.7). As a result, tradition journalist which bound to tradition reporting are required to upgrade their skills in order to produce a good online story.
